Club Committee Support
"Helping clubs build strong, organised and sustainable clubs"
Every successful club relies on volunteers working together behind the scenes.
This page outlines the key committee roles, responsibilities and qualifications needed to help clubs provide a safe, well-organised and positive environment for young players.
Minimum Committee Structure
Every club should have a clear structure so that no one person is left carrying everything.

Chairman
Provides leadership, chairs meetings and supports volunteers while ensuring the club follows League, FA and safeguarding requirements.

Club Welfare Officer
Promotes a safe and positive environment for children. Oversees safeguarding requirements and supports welfare concerns.

Club Secretary
Main point of contact with the League and Cornwall FA. Manages communications, team entries, meeting minutes and key deadlines.

Registration Secretary
Ensures players are registered correctly and on time. Maintains records and supports managers with registration deadlines.

Treasurer
Manages the club's finances, records income and expenditure, pays fees and provides regular financial updates and end of year report for the club AGM

Fixtures Secretary
Coordinates fixtures, confirms venues and kick-off times, liaises with opposition clubs and manages postponements.

Pre-Season Club Readiness Check
Before the start of each season, every club should take time to review its structure, volunteers and processes to ensure it is ready to provide a safe, organised and enjoyable environment for all players.
*Coach/manager Requirements*
In addition to the qualifications matrix above, all youth coaches should hold the England Football Introduction to Coaching Football course, alongside maintaining valid Safeguarding Children and Introduction to First Aid in Football qualifications.
If you would like support in developing your club, strengthening your committee structure or working towards accreditation, please contact our League Accreditation Officer, Chris Strike, who will be happy to help.
